This ceramic vessel was glazed with a Yohen crystal and a Yohen Tenmoku glaze. Although it wasn't stated how the vessel was fired, I believe a particular firing technique and environment had to be used. The glaze was not applied in any particular way, when looking at other similar works of art, it stated oxidation in the environment had to occur for the results. I like that the vessel is unique and shines. However, it isn't a project we could do at school.
This ceramic work of art was fired in a kiln. We tried this technique as a class, and it is one of my favorites. It was created by mixing soap, water, and glaze, then blowing it with a straw onto your ceramic piece. When the bubbles pop, they leave the shapes of the bubbles as shown above. I like that the technique is simple, but it leaves a cool design and may trick viewer's into thinking you tried a difficult technique. As mentioned before, this was done in class already, so it's definitely possible to do in a classroom environment.
